Privacy Policy

This policy covers Easy写作 / EasyEdit, its website and associated cloud services. The operator and privacy contact are listed below. 中文版.

Your choices

Before enabling online account, synchronization, purchase and diagnostic services, the app asks you to review the policy. You may decline and use local writing features. Opening a policy webpage makes the network requests necessary to display that page. You can change your choice in My → About → Privacy and terms. Withdrawing consent stops the related future processing; it does not automatically delete data already stored in your account.

Writing and account data

Books, chapters, volumes, notes, quick notes, editing history, covers, statistics and settings are stored locally by default. Using cloud synchronization, backups, uploads, feedback or AI sends the information necessary for the selected feature. Local editing alone does not automatically send manuscript text to an AI provider.

Registration, sign-in, recovery and profile management process the username, linked email/phone where supported, verification and authentication information, nickname, avatar and optional profile details you provide. QQ or Apple sign-in processes the identifiers and profile information you authorize that provider to share. QQ may also return gender, birth year, province/city, constellation and QQ membership fields in the authorized profile response; we store the response with the linked account for sign-in and profile management.

Clipboard and copy/paste

We read clipboard text only when you actively paste it into the current editor. Copy actions write the selected text, account identifier or content of the current action to the system clipboard. We do not automatically read the clipboard on startup or in the background, or upload it separately for advertising or analytics. Pasted text saved as a manuscript or quick note follows that feature's local storage, synchronization and backup rules.

Device and diagnostic information

After consent, we process a randomly generated installation identifier, device model/brand/manufacturer, operating system, language/region, app package/version/build/channel and connection status for account security, device management, compatibility and diagnostics. Servers receive IP addresses and request times and may obtain coarse network-derived location or organization information. Our own device-information code does not read IMEI, IMSI, MAC address, Android ID or contacts, or enumerate the full inventory of installed apps. The app does not request device location. QQ-related features may check whether the specific QQ/TIM app is installed; provider diagnostics are described below and in the provider disclosure.

Alliance and Tencent MyApp builds use a device-information allowlist of model, brand, manufacturer, operating system version and SDK version; they do not read the device serial number.

Operational event/error logs may include the session, logged-in account ID, membership status and third-party channel/profile identifiers. In configured release builds, Sentry processes crash, stability and performance diagnostics after consent, such as error context, timestamps, request timing and device/app information. Do not put passwords, verification codes or private manuscripts in feedback or logs.

Synchronization and files

Cloud services store the books, notes, text, editing/version records, settings, writing statistics and uploaded avatars, covers, fonts or feedback attachments needed to provide those services. Feedback attachments can include photos, videos, audio or other files you choose to submit. WebDAV connection credentials remain on your device and are sent to your chosen WebDAV service when connecting; they are not synchronized as EasyEdit cloud settings. Exported files and third-party backups remain under your control.

Membership and payments

Google Play builds use Google Play Billing for membership purchases. iOS uses Apple App Store; other Android channels may use their stated third-party payment service. We process product and order identifiers, purchase state, channel transaction references and verification information to validate purchases, deliver/restore entitlements and handle refunds. Google purchase tokens are protected on the server and linked to one app account. We do not collect your store password or full bank-card credentials. Local currency prices are supplied by the store.

Public rooms and community reports

Participating in public writing battles and chat shares your displayed nickname, avatar, room participation and messages with other participants. Chat and limited report evidence are processed for delivery, blocking and moderation. Reports may include the reporting/target identifiers, message, room, time, reason and outcome. Authorized staff review them under the community rules. Only use public chat for information you intend other participants to see. Chat evidence used to verify reports expires after 30 days; reports and moderation records are retained for up to 365 days for investigation and appeal, then removed or de-identified.

Scanning and AI

Scanning requests camera access when you choose the feature. Google ML Kit recognizes barcodes on device; scanning images and results are not sent to Google by ML Kit. The SDK may process device/app, performance and feature-event diagnostics under its own terms.

When you request correction, polishing or writing assistance, the submitted text, instructions and necessary context are processed by DeepSeek or MiniMax through our service. Any personal information inside the text is included. We store associated input, output, usage, timing and status records to provide history, account for usage, diagnose problems and address disputes. On platforms that offer Agent features, those features may store conversations, tasks and manuscript snapshots needed for the requested work. You can avoid these features without losing local writing and can request deletion through support.

Permissions and providers

Camera is used for scanning; system photo/file pickers are used for avatars, covers, import and export. Some Android 9-and-earlier builds may request legacy storage access. Network/status and wake-lock permissions support online features and synchronization. Google Play Alliance and Tencent MyApp builds do not install their own APK updates. Alliance is the shared build for Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo and Honor. Alliance and Tencent MyApp builds disable AI writing assistance, writing battles and chat; their official release configurations do not enable Sentry diagnostics or request legacy storage, location, all-files access or package installation permissions. Denying an optional permission only affects the related feature.

Providers include QQ (optional sign-in), Apple (iOS sign-in/purchases), Google (Play purchases and ML Kit), Sentry (diagnostics), DeepSeek/MiniMax (chosen AI requests), Aliyun cloud/object storage, the optional IP-API geolocation service (IP address and coarse network location over HTTPS), your chosen WebDAV provider and the payment provider shown in non-Play channels. We do not sell personal information. See the provider disclosure and data inventory for additional details.

Storage, transfers and protection

Our primary cloud services and object storage are located in mainland China. Serving users in other countries involves transmitting their selected cloud data to these services. Apple, Google, Sentry and your selected WebDAV provider may process data in other locations under their policies. We use encrypted transport, authentication and access controls and comply with applicable requirements for international processing. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Local data remains until you delete it, clear app data or uninstall; your exported copies remain under your control. Account/cloud content is kept to provide the service until you delete it or request account deletion. Feedback and diagnostic/security data are limited to service, investigation and applicable legal purposes. Required transaction records are de-identified after account deletion; minimal replay-prevention/deletion markers and necessary abuse evidence may be retained only for their stated purpose under applicable requirements. Support explains retention relevant to an individual deletion request.

Your rights and account deletion

You can manage your profile, connected accounts, permissions, writing and online features in the app. To request access, correction, a copy, deletion, withdrawal, an explanation or review of a decision, email the contact below. We verify ownership and respond within 15 working days, subject to any shorter applicable legal period.

Delete your account and associated data from within the app or by email without reinstalling it. The deletion page explains the scope, verification, limited retention and your own backups. Running AI work is stopped before remaining content is purged.

Children and changes

Minors should use online account and purchase services with appropriate guardian guidance and consent required by their location. If we learn that children's data was processed without required consent, we act to delete it as required. Material changes to this policy are communicated in the app or through another prominent notice, with renewed consent where required.
